Northern Leagues United: The Fans’ Team

Hit by injuries – captain Adam Taylor-Christensen damaged his ankle ligaments – work commitments and amnesia (Kevin Moore of UtdForNewcastle forgot the date of the game and arranged to go on a stag do instead), the Northern League fans, players and people who just want the chance to put reducers in on local football journalists are now as follows:

Manager: Ian Chandler (ex-Aldershot, Stockport and Barnsley. Four-time FA Vase winner as Whitley Bay player and boss)
Assistant: Adam Taylor-Christensen (Whitley Bay fan. Ex-Dundee United triallist)

Mark Gray (Dunston fan. Ex-goalkeeper for Esh Winning and Gateshead)
Craig McVay (North Shields fan. Once played the last nine minutes for North Shields Ladies in a 9-1 friendly defeat)

Dan Newell (Spennymoor fan. Has played at Wembley)
Chris Leyland (Played in the same school team as Shola Ameobi)
Jack Watchman (Recently signed by Ryton. Ace right back)
Jak Penny (Double winner with Easy Street in the Durham and District Sunday League)
Chris McLenland (Also referee in the 3pm Birtley vs Ryton and Crawcrook game)
Jamie Devlin (Youth football coach and out of practice 11-a-side player)

Paul Robinson (Whitley Bay player. Ex-York City and Tranmere. Three-time Vase winner. Won Goal of the Season, BBC Newcastle Player of the Year, Club Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the Year in 2010. Obvious weak link!)
Michael Young (Esh Winning fan. New dad. Has guested for Esh Winning and various Army teams in friendlies)
Ryan Davison (Leazes Terrace blogger. Guesting for the fans’ side so he has a plausible excuse for fouling his LT co-editor Chris Smith).
Gareth Johnson (Photographer. Friends with Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno. Can double up as defender or undersized goalkeeper)
Steve Bennett (FC United radio commentator and fan of non-league football. Still waiting for the call from Karl Marginson. Or anyone. Will be commentating on the game and playing the last 10 minutes)
Kristan Heneage (Another guest for the fans’ side. Writes for FourFourTwo online, EPL and MLS Talk)

Micky Boyle (Bedlington fan. 2006 Newcastle Central Sunday Afternoon Cup winner)
Paul Chow (Whitley Bay player. Three-time Vase winner. Stuff of Stuart Fuller’s nightmares)
Dave Jameson (Whitley Bay fan. Ex-Newcastle fanzine editor. Went to the same school as Graham Fenton)
Dave Anderson (Bedlington fan. Once scored a twenty-five yarder at the Terriers’ Welfare Park)
