Founded in 1996, Forest Hall Juniors now have twenty-three teams across all age levels, two consecutive Northumberland FA Comunity Club awards and a brand new £1.2 million clubhouse, partly funded by North Tyneside Council and a Football Foundation grant. Promoted from the South East Northumberland League in 1999, the club’s senior team have since played in Division Two of the Northern Football Alliance in every season but one. There’s no cover or hard standing around the pitch, which is known locally as Proctors Field.
The closest Metro station is a short walk away at Palmersville. Turn left at the station entrance and continue along Great Lime Road for half a mile until you see the Post Office. A cut directly opposite leads straight to the touchline. If you’re driving, look for the signpost pointing right for Palmersville Community Centre. Free car parking is available outside the Sports Pavillion. The nearest pubs are the Wheatsheaf (turn right out of Palmersville Metro) or the New Coach Inn (continue along Great Lime Road for another half a mile and take a right into Killingworth Road. There’s a Morrisons supermarket and retail park in nearby Killingworth, where you’ll also find Dial Cottage, the former home of railway pioneer George Stephenson.
