Seven Goals at Forest Hall

While most of ¡Viva Northern League! has decamped down to London for tomorrow’s FA Vase, I was getting soaked at Palmersville Community Centre, where Forest Hall moved off the bottom of Northern Alliance Division One with a flattering 6-1 win at home to Berwick United Ultras. That was only the second highest scoring game in the division, the soon-to-be-defunct South Shields United beating Morpeth Sporting Club 5-3 at Craik Park.

Up in the Premier Division the title is back on, Ponteland United’s 3-1 defeat at Harraby Catholic Club leaving Alnwick Town – 1-0 winners away to Percy Main – just a single point behind and still with a game in hand. Seaton Delaval stay fourth after beating Murton 2-1.

Neither of the Wearside League’s top two could manage a win, but Ryhope Colliery Welfare’s 2-2 draw at Redcar Athletic beat Easington’s 3-2 defeat at Jarrow, stretching their lead at the top to three points. Redcar play again on Monday – at home to Cleator Moor Celtic – while there are another nine games taking place in the Alliance’s top two divisions, including Heaton Stannington versus Walker Central. Kick offs are all at 6.30pm.
